Data Engineer – Bioinformatics

What you will be doing
- Selecting the best algorithms and infrastructure to address business challenges
- Developing high-quality, well-documented, and reusable software code for data science applications
- Collaborating with diverse stakeholders to understand business needs and technical requirements
- Interpreting results and effectively communicating findings to business and R&D teams
- Managing data sources, ensuring data quality, and maintaining metadata
- Identifying repeatable processes and suggesting appropriate automation for analytics
- Promoting a culture of analytics as a competitive advantage by embedding analytical tools within business workflows
- Keeping up to date with the latest methodologies and sharing knowledge within the team and company
What we are looking for
- An MSc degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Statistics, Physics, or a related field
- Experience in designing and developing large-scale data pipelines
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and the AWS ecosystem
- Strong skills in data access, cleaning, and preparation, with an emphasis on reusability
- A track record of developing well-structured, high-quality, and maintainable software code
- Experience with cloud computing tools such as Databricks
- Familiarity with biological databases
- Fluency in both English and Czech
